DREW FIRCHAU

Assistant Coach (17U Black)

Drew Firchau graduated from Granville High School in Granville, Ohio. As a left handed power hitting first baseman, he was awarded 2nd Team All-District and 1st  Team All-LCL his senior year. Drew played for the Midwest Marlins in the summer during high school.

Coach Firchau went on to play at Bryant and Stratton College in Solon, Ohio. In the summer, he played in the Great Lakes collegiate wooden bat league for the Licking County Settlers. Coach Firchau then transferred to Otterbein University in Westerville, Ohio to play for three seasons. He graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Sport Management with a minor in Race and Ethnic Studies.

Following his collegiate career, Coach Firchau became very passionate about working with younger hitters to perfect their craft mentally and mechanically. His training emphasizes the importance of mastering the mental side of hitting. Coach Firchau has experience working with hitters of all ages, as he spent two years instructing lessons at Legends Sports Academy in Dayton, Ohio. While at Otterbein, Coach Firchau instructed at multiple camps held by the baseball program including a U.S. Baseball Academy camp.

Outside of baseball, Coach Firchau enjoys spending time with his family, watching the Cincinnati Reds, and working out. He currently serves as an assistant coach at Bryan Station High School in Lexington, Kentucky.
