ERIK HAGEN

Head Coach (17U Black)

A native of Lima, Ohio, Erik Hagen was a team captain and four-year letterman at The College of Wooster in Wooster, Ohio, where he received a bachelor’s degree in history. He was a two-time First-Team All-Conference selection and was the team’s most valuable player as a senior in 1993. Following Wooster, Hagen signed professionally with the Frontier League and played for the Chillicothe Paints Professional Baseball Club in 1993. He later earned master’s degrees from Eastern Kentucky and Union College.

Coach Hagen coached college baseball for 16 years, including head coaching positions at both Transylvania University (1997-2000) and Georgetown College (2004-09). He has served as an assistant coach at Emory University (1995), Georgia Tech (1996), University of Cincinnati (1997) and The Ohio State University (2002-04).

Coach Hagen currently serves as the head coach of Bryan Station High School in Lexington, Kentucky, where he also teaches special education. He has been a teacher in the Fayette County Public Schools since 2011. Coach Hagen lives in Georgetown with his three daughters and son.
